2. Shrinkage factors of fabrics

(1) The shrinkage of fabric is different with different raw materials. Generally speaking, the fibers with high hygroscopicity will expand, increase in diameter, shorten in length shrink greatly after being immersed in water. If the water absorption of some viscose fibers is as high as 13%, the moisture absorption of synthetic fiber fabric is poor, its shrinkage is small.

(2) The shrinkage of fabric is different with different density. For example, the longitudinal latitudinal density is similar, the longitudinal latitudinal shrinkage is also close. If the warp density is large, the warp shrinkage will be large; otherwise, if the weft density is larger than the warp density, the weft shrinkage will be large.

(3) The shrinkage of the fabric varies with the thickness of the count. The shrinkage of the cloth with coarse count is large, that of the fabric with fine count is small.

(4) The shrinkage of the fabric is different with different production technology. Generally speaking, in the process of weaving dyeing finishing, the fibers need to be stretched many times, the processing time is long, the shrinkage of fabrics with high tension is large, otherwise it is small.
